This engine was built by Manning Wardle & Company at their Boyne Engine works in Leeds. It has previously worked for Logan & Hemmingway, and at Cranford Ironstone Co, Kettering. Similar to Matthew Murray, it is an L Class locomotive built for a contractor in the construction of large civil engineering projects.

It was purchased by Roger Crombleholme in 1965, and now owned by the Vintage Carriages Trust.

It has just finished it’s overhaul, and was launched back into traffic in April 2023.
