Here you can find answers to some of our more Frequently Asked Questions:

When can I visit Middleton Railway?

You can visit us on any day when the Railway is open – primarily Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between April and October.
We are usually also open on Wednesdays during the school holidays (working on Leeds school schedules).
You can find more information on the Our Timetable page.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments onsite with either cash or credit/debit card (except American Express)

Do I have to pre-book my tickets?

Pre-booking is not essential for any of our services, apart from our Santa Special services.

However, you are able to purchase tickets for most of our events online, from the appropriate event page in our timetable.

How long is the journey?

Our track is just over 1 mile long.

If you complete a full return journey, you are onboard for approximately 25 minutes.

However, you can get off at Park Halt, and wonder around Middleton Park to break up your journey – just don’t miss the last service of the day!

Don’t forget that on regular running days, the tickets are day rover tickets, so you can ride with us more than once!

Do I have to start my journey at Moor Road?

Apart from our Santa Specials, you are welcome to start or end your journey at either of our stations.

Tickets can be purchased from the guard if you start your journey at Park Halt.

Am I able to purchase food and drink?

Our cafe at Moor Road offers a selection of hot and cold drinks, along with snacks, crisps and chocolate.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes!

If you plan to get off at Park Halt and have a wander around Middleton Park, there are plenty of great picnic spots.

We request that you dispose of your rubbish in one of the bins, or take it home with you, to help keep our railway and the park clean.

Can I bring my dog?

Well-behaved dogs are always welcome at Middleton Railway, and they travel with us free-of-charge.
However, we request that you keep them on a leash at all times, and do not allow them to sit on the carriage seats.

Water for your furry friend is available at Moor Road.

Can I bring a party to the railway?

We have a carriage available to book which can be used for a private party.

Please see more information on our Party Train page.
