Saturday 15 April 2006

The following pictures were taken by Howard Bishop on Saturday 15 April 2006 - the day when the Railway re-opened after the year long closure period.

The pictures show the new display hall ( "The Engine House") at Moor Road and the first passenger train departing from the new Moor Road platform and arriving at Park Halt.  Rather fittingly, the trains were hauled by 1932-built Hunslet 0-6-0 diesel locomotive "John Alcock" which also hauled the very first passenger trains when the Railway was preserved in 1960.
