Kitson 0-6-0ST No. 5459 Austin No. 1, which is a Leeds-built locomotive based at the Llangollen Railway, took part in the "Leeds weekend" at Middleton Railway on 27-28 March 2004. On the Saturday, the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Neil Taggart, unveiled one of the famous "blue plaques" to commemorate the historic nature of the Middleton Railway and its contribution to the history of Leeds and the world.
