Greenbat

Greenbat Electric Loco
Image taken by A.M. Johnson 26/6/2005.

The Greenbat with some undercoat on The Greenbat - this is an interesting electric locomotive built for use in the coke ovens by Greenwood and Batley.

An offer to cosmetically restore this item has been received by the EM2 society.

A start has been made by the team cosmetically restoring this loco as can be seen from the image on the right.

It is intended to continue with the cosmetic restoration when space is freed up in the shed. Henry de Lacy II, the Fowler and the Greenbat are all expected to go undercover during the winter months.

Space inside the shed over the winter and spring of 2006/7 has seen our Hunslet 0-6-0DM "John Allcock" receiving a thorough repaint thus leaving the Greenbat to the elements. Unfortunately one of the cab windows has suffered demage. It is still on display at the rear of the car park.
